"Beaver Meadows" ranger-led walk in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Ranger walks and talks abound in Rocky Mountain National Park. Pick up the park newspaper, the High Country Headlines to check out schedules. A handy chart outlines ranger walk length, difficulty, topics, location and times. Saturday evening talks, or lyceum presentations are also outlined.
Evening Campfire Talks at Glacier Basin, Moraine Park, and Timber Creek Campground amphitheaters are conducted from Memorial Day weekend through the end of Labor Day weekend. Lasting from 45 minutes to an hour, start times and days of the week vary. Check the park newspaper for details.
Rocky Mountain Field Seminars, sponsored by the non-profit Rocky Mountain Nature Association, use the park as a classroom and are conducted by experts on the subjects. Ask at the visitor centers for a free catalogue or check out the Rocky Mountain Nature Association website.
Teachers can visit www.heartoftherockies.net to learn about lesson plans, trip planning, and other educational opportunities in Rocky Mountain National Park. The website lists materials and contact information for a park educational coordinator.
