Long House is the second-largest cliff dwelling in Mesa Verde National Park.
Located at the end of a long, winding road, it is separate from most of the other major park attractions.
Only 15 percent of the park's visitors take the time to see it.

Lodging and Camping
The Far View Lodge sits upon 8160-foot high Navajo Hill in the heart of the park. Private balconies open to panoramas that stretch over 100 miles. (I had trouble getting the kids ready for bed – I couldn’t take my eyes off our big picture window and the changing color patterns as the sun set over the canyons.) No televisions or telephones are in the rooms. Evening programs are held from time to time in the on-site multi-media auditorium. The lodge is open from mid-April to mid-October. Reservations can be made by calling toll free to 877-246-4884.
With 435 sites, the largest campground in the entire National Park Service system is at Mesa Verde. Morefield Campground never fills up, as evidenced by various campsites that are grown over with grasses and wildflowers. Its views are beautiful. Sites include picnic tables and fire grates. Fifteen sites have RV hookups. Drinking water and flush toilets are available, as are shower and laundry facilities and a convenience store.
