diversions for traveling families.

Families traveling to Colorado from out of state can land in several Colorado airports.

Denver International Airport
is the largest and best-known airport in Colorado, and with nearly 1,700 flights per day, DIA is the major gateway for most visitors to Colorado.

Facilities include Elrey B. Jeppesen Terminal, with 1.5 million square feet, plus three concourses housing 95 gates. Concourse B’s Regional Jet Facility includes sixteen gates.
Passenger services include an information booth in Jeppesen Terminal and at each concourse. Friendly Hospitality Ambassadors, sporting white cowboy hats, provide information and other assistance for airport guests. Baggage carts, lockers and baggage storage are available, plus courtesy telephones and a lost and found.

Denver International Airport also has a post office, credit union and ATM services, and free WiFi Internet access. Families traveling with pets will find a pet exercise and relief area, and a designated lounge is set aside for smoking. The Rocky Mountain United Service Organization (USO) Center is for traveling armed forces men and women and their families, and the airport also houses an Interfaith Chapel and Islamic Prayer Hall.

Ground Transportation from Denver International Airport includes Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Payless, and Thrifty car rental agencies. Shuttles serve nearby hotels as well as ski resorts in the mountains. Denver’s Regional Transportation District (RTD) provides express bus service to Denver’s city center, as well as to suburban business hubs and light rail stations. Taxis are also available.

Colorado Springs Airport
serves as an alternate entry point to Colorado, and may offer a less expensive alternative from some cities.

With a 280,000 square foot terminal and 16 gates, Colorado Springs Airport handles about 110 departures and arrivals per day.

Passenger Services include a play area for children, family care rooms, food & beverage concessions, a chapel, news & gift shops, ATMs, airport information center, airport paging, baggage carts, ground transportation and hotel information, and skycaps.

Car rental includes Alamo, National, Avis, Budget, Dollar Thrifty, Enterprise and Hertz Advantage. Other transportation includes hotel/motel shuttles, limousines, ski lodge/resort shuttles and taxicabs.

Airlines serving Colorado Springs Airport include Allegiant Air, American, Continental, Delta, Express Jet, Northwest, United, and US Airways.



Grand Junction Regional Airport is the largest airport on Colorado’s Western Slope.

Its 76,000 square feet of facility space serves 6 airlines. They include Allegiant Airlines, American Airlines, Delta, Frontier, Great Lakes Airlines, United Express/Skywest, and US Airways.

Non-stop flights from Grand Junction go to Salt Lake City, Utah; Las Vegas, Nevada; Phoenix, Arizona; Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas; and Denver, Colorado.

Car Rental companies at Grand Junction Regional Airport include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, National, and Advantage Rent A Car.
